Abstract

The study on the position of the Bulgarian language field proves that it is part of the "national minorities" beside the other languages of Bessarabia (Moldova, Gagauz, Polish etc.). The result of the policy language and history in this region becomes the Russian who works as a filter to any language of national minorities in the former Soviet Union, including Bulgaria. Thus, very fast, the local languages are confined to the gregarious functions and the Russian is reserved for vehicular, official, scientific functions. Despite this policy the national minorities were able to develop their language by borrowing from other languages, including French. The interference from Russian and French has an historical past since the nineteenth century which explains the violence of the French lexicon in Bulgarian. Furthermore this process occurs surreptitiously - in semantic borrowings of lingual units.
