Gheorghe Teodor Arat

Abstract

The globalization, concerted action of the neo-liberal currentfrom the global economy, ment to replace
the initiative of the 70’s regarding the creation of the”newinternational economic and political order”, is almost
equally accepted or contested by the international society.
The globalization has meanings for the international relations’ actors: states, organizations and
international agencies and also for the varied segments of theglobal public opinion. Among the organisms which
involved and at the same time influenced by the political globalization’s process, the European Union is also
includent. From the point of view of its evolution from an economic community to the European complementarity
space, the European Union represents a real interest for the definition and understanding of the global
politicsconcept at the beginning of the XXIst century.
Obviousi, the European Union is not only one of the global political scene’s actor, even if it prefigures
itself as one of the power poles of the planet, bu its transformation and transition from the economic field to the
political field from the national to the federal makes it one of the most interesting organizations.
In order to understand this role the evolution of three European communities needs to be observed from
their foundation until now, stage recorded by the Treaty of Lisbon from December 2007, which prefigures at the
same time the future development of the organization too, in the context of globalization of politics and in
theglobalization’s politics.
