UNELE ASPECTE ALE PROTECŢIEI DREPTURILOR COPILULUI
Abstract
Children have the same human rights as adults, but they may also be treated inappropriately as they are dependent and vulnerable. Violence is used against the members of society unable to protect themselves-children in schools, orphanages, on the streets. Children are subject to unconscionable violence, most often perpetrated by the very individuals charged with their safety and well-being. These abuses do persist as children have few mechanisms for reporting violence and other human rights violations. Government must take stronger action to implement the convention's provisions and fulfill their promises to protect children.
