PROTECŢIA CONSUMATORULUI ÎN UNIUNEA EUROPEANA ŞI ÎN ROMÂNIA

Teodor Dragos Troanta Rebeles

Abstract

Nowadays, 370 million consumers are living within the European Union. Due to the important role they play on an economic and political plan, member states have adopted specific policies especially designed to protect their interests. In view of Romania’s entering the European Union, our country has the obligation to develop programs and strategies that will enable it to realize a consumers’ protection as important as the level imposed to the member states. My paper deals with matters that are closely linked to consumers’ protection. It is structured in two parts, the first part presenting matters in the European Union, while the second part shows aspects regarding consumer protection at national level.
