Vlad Barbu

Abstract

One of OIM fundamental objectives is combating discrimination in work relations and ensuring the equality of treatment for all the employees. The first international document was no 111 OIM Convention regarding discrimination. There followed a series of normative documents at communitary  level that promoted principles among which one can find the equality of treatment between men and women (75/ 117/ CEE Directive; 76/ 207/CEE Directive; 92/ 85/CEE Directive; 94/ 34 CE Directive; 87/80/ CEE Directive; 2000/ 43/ CE Directive and 200/78/CE Directive). Romanian laws took into account a great deal of these stipulations when the new work code was adopted and when further normative documents regarding the workforce were adopted: O.G 137/ 2000 regarding the prevention and the penalization of all forms of discrimination which has been approved together with the modifications to law 48/ 2002, then modified and completed by O.G 77/ 2003.
