POLITICA DE CURS PROMOVATĂ DE BNR ÎN CONTEXT EUROPEAN

Camelia Vechiu

Abstract

The pragmatic approach of Romania’s process of integration in European Union presupposes the achievement of objectives and priorities provided by the National Program of Romania’s Accession to European Union, not only as premises of integration, but especially as national desiderata. According to objectives as regards the European Integration, NRB acted according to Romania’s efforts concerning the institutional, structural and operational adjustment of Romania’s economy to communitary requirements. The National Bank of Romania has continued to pay a special attention to the banking system reform and also to the acceleration process of financial integration, in accordance with the norms and principles lying at the basis of European policies. As regards the rate policy promoted, the Romanian National Bank has in view some factors to lead to the strengthening of ROL, that is to the raising of commercial transactions both in export and in import, closely followed by the raise of financial transactions. In the opinion of NRB Governor, all these measures will ensure a stability of the national currency, more exactly a real appreciation of ROL flow.
