Abstract

Even though more and more cities across the globe impose restrictive measures regarding the use of cars and offer instead incentives in order to choose alternative means of transport, they do not slow down their economic growth, but on the contrary they prove their skills towards providing citizens a better life. Under these circumstances, the bicycle appears as a viable solution for most of us, and the public programs that support its use have started to develop globally, at European level, and in Romania as well. The current paper wishes to point out the stimulating perspectives brought by the slight increase in the number of bicycles sold in our country in recent years towards the future of urban transport.
